Buddy, the unfortunate dog who suffered from extreme cruelty, is finally on the road to recovery. A child in Mississippi set him on fire back in April, leaving him with excruciating burn injuries that required him to be bandaged up for quite some time. However, Buddy’s wound has healed, and he can now go about his recovery journey without any bandages. He currently resides at the Mississippi State Veterinary Hospital where he can wander around and even play with toys. Moreover, since his eyes are no longer covered by bandages, he has a completely different personality, according to the Tunicia Humane Society.
As per the recent Facebook post by the Tunic Humane Society, Buddy’s life is now much better after being treated for burns on his face at Mississippi State. After the surgery, he no longer has to wear heavy bandages on his eyes and can see again. The change in his personality is remarkable as he is now happy and playful, carrying a big ball around the hospital halls. Although he will need more surgeries on his eyelids in the future, he is currently enjoying his life as a dog without any worries. The vets are providing him with enough rest and playtime, and even approved his neuter surgery, which he successfully underwent. As part of his recovery process, Buddy has started receiving treatment for heartworms while still at Mississippi State.
Buddy is receiving a lot of love and support from veterinary and humane society teams, as well as his online fans. He has become quite popular, with his latest recovery update receiving more than 26,000 likes on Facebook, and close to 5,300 comments wishing him a speedy recovery. To show their support for Buddy, the Humane Society has created t-shirts with his face on them.
After going through so much, the adorable pooch definitely deserves all the attention and affection. Even with a tough journey, Buddy has managed to maintain his loving and gentle nature, making him one of the most affectionate dogs around. The Tunica Humane Society is grateful for the overwhelming support and love that Buddy has received during his rehabilitation process. While it may still take a while before he’s ready for adoption, there is already a long list of people eagerly waiting to provide him with a permanent and loving home.
